River Festival Liverpool
The much anticipated River Festival returns to Liverpool on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June! Inspired by Liverpool’s maritime heritage, the festival presents a packed programme to celebrate the Port of Liverpool as an arrival and departure base for world class culture, music, food, wine and art.

As part of River Festival Liverpool 2019, the award-winning Bordeaux Wine Festival makes its return to Liverpool’s Waterfront, from 31st May to 2nd June. The festival offers a fantastic opportunity for wine lovers and connoisseurs – and those who are just willing to learn more and explore – to taste some of the most delicious Bordeaux wines, including crisp rosés, sparkling whites and, of course, the world famous reds. Attendees will get a specially branded wine glass and a souvenir case to take home. Tickets are available to purchase here.

Other highlights for the River festival include music events, workshops, performances and art installations - such as Gaia, a huge 23ft replica of the earth by renowned artist Luke Jerram. Gaia will hang inside Liverpool Cathedral for four weeks and it’s expected to attract hundreds of visitors.

Sea Urchins will head to the waterfront, for the first time in the UK, in the form of hand-crocheted works of art made of fishing nets. The structure has been designed by award-winning architect Jin Choi and it’s over three meters high and six meters wide.

Royal Albert Dock will be home to three Ship Stages representing India, Africa and Ireland and dedicated to showcase the music and culture of each of these parts of the world.

Audiences can also expect exciting nautical exhibitions, displays, street theatre and dancing showcases! For further information check www.theriverfestival.co.uk
