Senior Bar Man atTitanic Hotel Liverpool, Niall McColgan was the winner of last nights firstHarcourt Barista Challenge at the Titanic Hotel Liverpool.
The Titanic Hotel Liverpool was the stage for a flavoursomebattle. For the first time and in collaboration with Johnsons Coffee, Titanic Hotel Liverpool and Townhouse Hotel Manchester, faced each other in a BaristaChallenge showing the love and passion of the Hotel group for the high qualitycoffee and the highest standard in service.
Two baristas from each hotel performed for four sensoryjudges who were looking for perfection during the different stages of thecompetition. Daniel Rickling and Adam Psenicka represented Townhouse HotelManchester and Elle McCabe and Niall McColgan from Titanic Hotel Liverpool.
Each contestant began their showcase section with a briefintroduction, and verbally demonstrated what they have learnt on the run up tothe competition day. Each barista had a total of 15 minutes includingintroductions to produce for the four sensory judges 4 espressos and four 4cappuccinos in total. Judges looked for excellence in the production of thesecoffees.
After an exciting session of coffee art, Niall McColgan fromTitanic Hotel snapped up the title of Best Overall Barista for the consistencyof his work and the quality of the coffee brewed.
