The finalists for the Liverpool Hospitality Awards 2018 have been released, and we are so excited that two of our hard-working employees are finalists in two different categories.

Joanne Woods, the Deputy Head Housekeeper at the Titanic, is a finalist for Employee of the Year - Heart of House at the awards. Joanne has worked at the Titanic since it opened over four years ago, and has always gone above and beyond the call of duty to deliver great service.

Since starting in hospitality at her role in the Atlantic Tower hotel, Joanne has always been the perfect role model for anybody who is joining the hotel industry, and she demonstrates how determination, commitment and hard work pays off.

She says, “Since I got my first job in Atlantic Tower I loved working in housekeeping and have never looked back. I am over the moon becoming a finalist, made up! All the hard work has paid off. The support I get off all the staff and managers is amazing. My favourite thing about my job is the satisfaction we get when we all pull together as a team to achieve great results”.

Michael Ordish has worked at the Titanic for two years, and has been nominated for Employee of the Year - Front of House at the 2018 hospitality awards.

Michael is a front of house ambassador and greets every guest through the door with a smile, ensuring the perfect customer journey. He is a great leader and mentor to his team, and has shown how he goes above and beyond for guests with the numerous positive comments he has received on Trip Advisor.

He says, “I have always dreamt of two roles, either on the front desk working with guests or as cabin crew. Due to being a nervous flyer I have decided to keep my feet on the ground. I love to work with people and I enjoy meeting the wealth of guests we have from all corners of the world.”

“I love being a support for my team. Either when it’s busy and they need assisting or just someone to talk to. I like that they see me as an approachable, helpful colleague. I am honoured that I have been considered for this award by my colleagues, and I am ecstatic that I have been shortlisted and had the pleasure to meet the committee.”

The awards dinner is taking place at the Titanic Hotel on Friday 2nd November 2018 and we wish the best of luck to Joanne and Michael.
